What is a graphic design virtual assistant?
A graphic design virtual assistant is a remote designer who handles a business's day-to-day design requests: social media graphics, ad creatives, presentations, one-pagers, flyers, email headers, thumbnails and template updates. The assistant works from the client's brand guidelines inside Canva or Adobe, turning a queue of briefs into finished files. At AssistBPO the designer is an employed member of the group, not a freelancer hired per job.

How does the graphic design desk work?
-
Match
A 20-minute discovery call on your brand, formats, volume and tools. Within 72 hours we propose a named designer with a portfolio in your style and a short test brief on your brand, plus a trained backup who has reviewed the same kit.
-
Onboard
You add the designer to your Canva team or Adobe account and share the brand guidelines, logo files, fonts and past work. We build a request form with the fields that make a brief complete, set turnaround tiers by piece type, and produce the first batch for your approval before regular work starts.
-
Daily rhythm
The designer opens the queue at the start of the shift, confirms priorities with you if two requests clash, and works through pieces in order. Files land in your drive with the agreed naming. The end-of-day report lists what shipped, what is in revision and what is queued for tomorrow.
-
Weekly review
Twenty minutes with the team lead: pieces delivered, revision reasons, upcoming campaigns and any brand-kit updates. You set next week's priorities on the call. Monthly, the team lead scores a sample of files on the QA scorecard for brand accuracy, file hygiene and turnaround.
Hours, coverage and models
AssistBPO staffs the graphic design desk on 3 models. US Eastern to Pacific, UK and Canadian business hours from the group's two offices; Australian Eastern shifts available on request. Overnight turnaround is possible when your evening is our morning.

- Shared design pod, 20 or 40 hours a month with a request cap
- Project block for a rebrand, catalog or deck series

These are rate-card starting points. What you pay depends on the hours, the desk and the coverage window, which is what the staffing plan sets. Rates improve as you add assistants. Your staffing plan states the rate for the number of seats you need. The rate card carries the other currencies, the add-ons and the six things that move a plan off it.
How much does graphic design cost?
Plans start at $400 a month for 40 hours, at $10 an hour, and rates improve as you add assistants. Get a staffing plan within 1 business day.
What moves the plan
- Hours a week and whether the desk is dedicated or shared
- Phones: live answering needs a receptionist profile and a backup
- Coverage zone: business hours, after-hours, weekends or 24/7
- Tools and access to set up
- One person or a pod with a lead

Frequently asked questions
How much does a graphic design virtual assistant cost?
Plans depend on hours, desks and coverage. Get a staffing plan within 1 business day. For orientation, premium US services publish $65 to $79 an hour for specialist assistants and managed offshore providers $7 to $15 an hour (Magic and Staffify 2026 roundups; Wishup cost guide). AssistBPO prices a dedicated designer per person for a block of hours, so ten social graphics and a 30-slide deck sit inside the same plan.
Canva or Adobe?
Both. Most day-to-day marketing work runs in Canva inside your team workspace, which keeps templates, brand kit and approvals in one place. For print files, complex layouts, photo retouching or vector logo work the designer switches to Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign under your Adobe seat. Source files are always saved to your drive in the native format.
How fast is turnaround?
Standard pieces such as a social graphic, ad resize or email banner come back the same or next business day. Multi-page items such as a deck, brochure or ebook are scoped on the brief, usually two to five days depending on length and copy readiness. Rush requests are flagged in the queue and the team lead confirms the slot the same day.
How do you keep everything on brand?
Onboarding builds a brand kit inside Canva or your Adobe libraries: logos, palette, fonts, spacing rules and approved templates. The designer works only from that kit, and the team lead checks a sample of files each month against it. When your brand changes, the kit is updated first so every new file inherits the change.
Can the designer handle print and packaging?
Yes, for print-ready output: correct bleed, crop marks, CMYK conversion, resolution checks and export to your printer's spec. Packaging dielines supplied by your manufacturer can be laid out in Illustrator. We do not run print production ourselves; files go to the printer you choose with a proof for your approval.
What about video and animation?
Simple motion is included: animated stories, text-on-video, GIFs and short logo stings in Canva or After Effects templates. Full video editing, captions and multi-clip Reels sit with the video editing assistant on the same desk, and the two often work as a pair on campaign launches.
Do you use AI image generation?
Only where you approve it and never for anything that must be factually accurate, such as product shots or people representing your team. AI tools help with background removal, mock-ups and concept sketches; a designer composes, edits and finishes every file by hand. Stock imagery is licensed under your own account.
How many pieces can one designer produce a month?
A dedicated 160-hour designer typically handles 80 to 120 standard pieces a month, or fewer when the mix includes decks and multi-page documents. We agree a realistic volume at onboarding, track it in the weekly review and add a second designer or a shared pod if the queue grows past what one person can hold.
