Why do Shopify users need a virtual assistant?
Running a Shopify store is not one job. It is a product job, an operations job, a support job and a merchandising job, and on a small team those all belong to the same person. So the listing for the new colorway goes live with a placeholder description, the unfulfilled orders view collects three addresses that failed validation, the abandoned checkout flow has not been looked at since Black Friday and a customer is on day four of asking where their parcel is. None of it is hard. All of it is constant. An assistant takes the constant part: orders cleared every morning, listings built properly, inventory reconciled, collections merchandised and customers answered while the day is still theirs.
What can a virtual assistant do inside Shopify?
- Products and variants
- Creates and edits products with your title structure, options, variant SKUs, weights, images and metafields, so search, filters and apps all behave.
- Collections and merchandising
- Builds manual and automated collections, sets the sort order that actually sells, and pulls out-of-stock products forward or back as you prefer.
- Orders and fulfillment
- Works the unfulfilled and on-hold views every morning, fixes bad addresses, splits and holds orders, and pushes tracking back to the customer.
- Returns and refunds
- Processes returns and exchanges inside your policy, issues refunds and store credit as you authorize, and records the reason so the return report is useful.
- Inventory and locations
- Reconciles stock across locations, corrects the counts that drift after a manual fulfillment and flags products heading for a stockout before they get there.
- Discounts and draft orders
- Sets up discount codes and automatic discounts for a campaign, builds draft orders for wholesale or phone customers and checks each one before sending.
- Theme content and pages
- Updates homepage sections, banners, navigation, size guides and policy pages from your brief, always duplicating the theme before editing anything live.
- Apps and reports
- Keeps app settings and feeds current, checks the apps that fail quietly, and pulls weekly sales, conversion and product performance reports with a short note.
