Why do Comcast Business VoiceEdge users need a virtual assistant?
VoiceEdge usually arrives with the internet line rather than from a phone project, so nobody owns it. The Automated Attendant was recorded by whoever set the account up, the hunt group rings three desks that are empty two days a week, and Readable Voicemail quietly fills an inbox that gets read at lunch. VoiceEdge also does nothing your CRM can see. There is no native connector writing call notes to HubSpot or Salesforce, and the phone system does not text, so a caller who gave up at the menu gets nothing back at all. An assistant fills both gaps. They sit in the hunt groups and queues in your hours, answer in your name, transfer with context, work the Readable Voicemail list to zero, log every call on the right record themselves, and keep the Automated Attendants, business hour schedules and holiday greetings true to what your company actually does.
What can a virtual assistant do inside Comcast Business VoiceEdge?
- Hunt groups and call queues
- Answers as a member of your hunt groups and as an agent in your call queues, follows the routing pattern your admin chose, whether calls ring in order, all at once, in rotation or to the longest idle line, and returns every abandoned call inside your callback window.
- Automated Attendant and schedules
- Documents each Automated Attendant tree, keeps the Business Hours and After Hours menus, holiday schedules and dial-by-name options accurate, and writes up any change for your admin to apply in Business VoiceEdge Manager.
- Readable Voicemail
- Reads the emailed voicemail transcriptions every morning, listens to the audio where the transcription is wrong, calls back in priority order and marks each one done so the list actually clears.
- Be Anywhere and call forwarding
- Keeps Be Anywhere numbers, Call Forwarding Always, Busy and No Answer rules and Do Not Disturb settings correct for every user so a caller never lands on a phone that stopped being used months ago.
- VoiceEdge Desktop App and mobile
- Works from the VoiceEdge Desktop App on a managed computer, uses the softphone, call history, presence and one-touch hold and transfer, and picks up on the Comcast Business App when a shift runs from a backup location.
- Call logging without a connector
- VoiceEdge does not write to your CRM, so the assistant does it: outcome, next step and a short summary on the contact or job record after every call, done the same shift rather than at the end of the week.
- Admin support in My Account
- Adds, changes and removes users and seats under your admin, keeps the directory and extension list current, updates greetings after a staff change and tests the whole call flow monthly from an outside line.
- Conferencing, screen share and recording
- Sets up and hosts the audio conference bridge for client calls, shares screens when a customer needs walking through something, and uses manual call recording only where your policy allows it with the notice stated first.
Integrations we handle
-
Comcast Business VoiceEdge and Microsoft Teams
Where your VoiceEdge seats are paired with Teams, the assistant checks presence in Teams before transferring and posts messages and callback requests to the right channel.
-
Comcast Business VoiceEdge and Microsoft 365
Readable Voicemail lands in Outlook, so the assistant triages it there, files each message against the customer and books callbacks in the shared calendar.
-
Comcast Business VoiceEdge and Google Workspace
Runs the VoiceEdge Chrome integration for click to dial, checks Calendar before a transfer and keeps a call log in Sheets when you want a record outside the CRM.
-
Comcast Business VoiceEdge and HubSpot
VoiceEdge has no native HubSpot connector, so the assistant logs each call on the contact timeline manually and creates the follow-up task for the owner.
-
Comcast Business VoiceEdge and Salesforce
Calls are typed onto the lead, account or case by hand with disposition and next step, which keeps pipeline reports honest even without a telephony integration.
-
Comcast Business VoiceEdge and Slack
Urgent callbacks, new inquiries and voicemail transcriptions are posted to the channel your team watches, with the number, the reason and who is expected to act.
