Assistants who work in Intercom

AssistBPO's Intercom virtual assistant is an employed support agent who works inside your Intercom workspace. Why do Intercom users need a virtual assistant?

Intercom teams usually arrive at the same moment: Fin resolves the easy half, and the hard half now lands on two people who also own onboarding, billing questions and the changelog. Conversations wait because everyone assumes someone else has it. Articles fall behind the product, so Fin answers from last quarter's screenshots. Nobody has time to read the Reports tab and notice that one topic tripled. An assistant gives the Inbox an owner in your hours. They pick up every Fin handoff, answer from macros written in your voice, create tickets for bugs and requests and keep the customer updated until they close, tag by topic so your reports mean something, and rewrite the Articles that Fin keeps getting wrong. Workflows and Series stay under your admin; the assistant proposes changes with evidence from the conversations.

What can a virtual assistant do inside Intercom?

Inbox and assignment
Works the Inbox by priority and wait time, assigns by your team rules, and keeps the unassigned view empty through the shift.
Fin AI Agent handoffs
Picks up conversations Fin could not resolve, reads the transcript first, and logs why Fin failed so your team can fix the content gap.
Macros
Answers from macros in your product's voice, adjusts for the customer's plan and context, and flags macros that no longer match the product.
Tickets
Converts bugs and feature requests into tickets with steps to reproduce, keeps customers updated on progress and closes the loop when shipped.
Articles (Help Center)
Updates and writes Help Center articles from repeat questions and Fin misses, with current screenshots and clear steps.
Tags and conversation topics
Tags every conversation by topic and outcome so Reports show what customers actually struggle with.
Reports
Pulls weekly volume, response time, resolution rate and Fin resolution reports and writes a short summary for your product and support leads.
Outbound and Series
Drafts onboarding emails, banners and Product Tours from your brief and checks audiences before your marketer switches them on.

Frequently asked questions

What does an Intercom virtual assistant do day to day?

The shift starts with Fin handoffs and anything waiting longest, then the rest of the Inbox by priority. Each reply comes from a macro or an Article, adjusted for the customer's plan and what they already tried. Bugs become tickets with steps to reproduce; feature requests are logged and acknowledged. Every conversation is tagged before it closes. Once a day the assistant reviews Fin transcripts for misses and fixes the Article behind them. The end-of-day report covers conversations closed, open tickets and their status, and anything that needs an engineer or a founder.

Do you have Intercom certified assistants?

Our support agents complete an internal Intercom training track: Inbox, Fin handoffs, macros, tickets, Articles, tags, Reports and the basics of Workflows and Series, followed by shadowing a live workspace. Intercom Academy courses are used where they help. None of that is a vendor certification and we do not present it as one; AssistBPO is not an Intercom partner or reseller, and the name identifies the software you use. Ask us to show what the proposed assistant has handled in Intercom before you decide.

How much does an Intercom virtual assistant cost?

Plans depend on hours, desks and coverage. Get a staffing plan within 1 business day. A dedicated Intercom assistant is priced per person for a monthly block of hours in your time zone, not per conversation or per resolution. Your Intercom seats and Fin usage remain on your Intercom bill; we add nothing to it. SaaS teams often pair Inbox coverage with onboarding calls or customer success check-ins in the same hours.

Can the assistant make Fin better?

Yes, in the way that actually works: by fixing the content Fin answers from. The assistant reads Fin handoff transcripts daily, groups the misses by topic, and rewrites or adds the Articles and snippets behind them. They also tag conversations so the Fin report shows where resolution is weakest. They do not tune models or change Fin settings without your admin. Most teams see the handoff rate move once the top ten Articles are rewritten with current screenshots.

How do we give the assistant access to our workspace?

Add them as a teammate with a role scoped to the Inbox, tickets, Articles and Reports, and no access to billing, security settings or Workflows unless you choose. The assistant signs in from a managed device with two-factor authentication and never shares a login. Every reply and note carries their name in the conversation history. Remove the seat any time. If you keep customer data restrictions, we work inside them and put a BAA or DPA in place where your data requires one.

Can the assistant handle technical questions about our product?

Level 1 and much of level 2, given a proper onboarding. In the first weeks the assistant works through your product like a new customer, builds an internal FAQ from your Articles and your engineers' answers, and learns the boundaries: what to fix, what to escalate, what to ticket. Anything beyond that goes to your team with a clear write-up. Conversations are scored monthly on the QA scorecard for accuracy and tone, and the team lead reviews the escalations to see what could have been handled.
