What are cold calling services?

Cold calling services are outsourced outbound telephone campaigns in which trained callers contact business prospects who have not yet spoken with you, introduce your offer, qualify interest and pass warm conversations to your sales team as meetings or callbacks. Done properly, the campaign uses lawfully sourced lists scrubbed against do-not-call registers, respects calling hours in each market, follows a script and keeps a record of every contact and its outcome.

Who is the outbound calling desk for?

B2B companies opening a new segment or region
Two hundred conversations with the right titles tell you more about a market than any report. A caller runs the campaign and brings back the objections.
IT providers, agencies and professional services
Discovery calls booked with owners and operations leads, using your differentiators and a callback cadence that does not pester.
Manufacturers, logistics and construction suppliers
Buyers and estimators reached by phone because they do not answer email, with quote requests handed to your sales desk.
Recruiting and staffing firms
Hiring managers contacted about open roles and staffing needs, with business development calls logged in your CRM alongside candidate work.

How does the outbound calling desk work?

  1. Match

A 20-minute discovery call on the segment, the offer, the list source, your CRM and dialer, the markets you will call and what a good outcome is. Within 72 hours we propose a named caller with outbound experience in your sector and an accent match for your prospects, plus a trained backup.

  2. Onboard

We write the script and objection guide, record practice calls for your sign-off, scrub the list, set calling windows per market, connect the dialer and CRM, and agree the transfer and callback rules with your reps. The team lead signs off on compliance before the first live dial in week two.

  3. Daily rhythm

The caller runs two or three dialing blocks in permitted hours, logs every outcome as it happens, transfers or books warm conversations, sends follow-up emails and updates the objection log. The end-of-day report shows dials, connects, conversations, interest and meetings, plus any do-not-call requests suppressed.

  4. Weekly review

20 minutes with the team lead: conversation rate by list, meetings held, objections heard most, script changes to test and next week's list. Monthly, the team lead scores a random sample of recordings on the QA scorecard and shares the results with the caller and you.

These are rate-card starting points. What you pay depends on the hours, the desk and the coverage window, which is what the staffing plan sets. Rates improve as you add assistants. Your staffing plan states the rate for the number of seats you need. The rate card carries the other currencies, the add-ons and the six things that move a plan off it.

How much does outbound calling cost?

Plans start at $400 a month for 40 hours, at $10 an hour, and rates improve as you add assistants. Get a staffing plan within 1 business day.

What moves the plan

  1. Hours a week and whether the desk is dedicated or shared
  2. Phones: live answering needs a receptionist profile and a backup
  3. Coverage zone: business hours, after-hours, weekends or 24/7
  4. Tools and access to set up
  5. One person or a pod with a lead

Frequently asked questions

How much do cold calling services cost?

Plans depend on hours, desks and coverage. Get a staffing plan within 1 business day. For orientation, 2026 cost guides put managed remote sales support at $7 to $15 an hour, while Indeed lists the average US virtual assistant at $27.15 an hour and a loaded in-house hire runs $4,700 to $9,100 a month (Wishup, Cherry Assistant). AssistBPO prices per named caller for a block of hours, with the team lead, QA and reporting included.

Is outbound calling still legal?

Yes, for business-to-business calls done properly, and that is the only kind we run. Every list is scrubbed against the relevant registers: the US National Do Not Call Registry with TCPA consent rules and 8am to 9pm local calling hours, TPS and CTPS in the UK under PECR, the National DNCL in Canada under CRTC rules, and the Australian Do Not Call Register under ACMA. We do not robocall, we do not autodial cell phones without consent and we do not do third-party debt collection.

Do you call consumers?

Only with lawful consent: your own customers, people who asked for contact or consented leads with the consent recorded. We do not run consumer campaigns from purchased lists. Most of our outbound work is business-to-business, where the rules allow contact with appropriate screening and the conversations are with people whose job includes buying what you sell.

Who writes the script?

We write it together in onboarding: a 20-second opener, two or three qualifying questions, the answers to the objections you hear most and clear outcomes such as meeting, callback, nurture, not interested or do not call. The caller records practice calls for your sign-off. After that the script changes weekly based on what the objection log says, and every change is noted so you can see what moved the numbers.

What results should we expect?

Honest answer: it depends on the list, the offer and the market, which is why we report conversations and meetings by list rather than promising a rate. In the first two weeks the caller is learning the objections and the script is being tuned. By week four you see a steady weekly pattern, and the weekly review tells you whether the segment is worth continuing, adjusting or replacing.

Can the caller transfer live to our reps?

Yes. If a rep is available, the caller does a warm transfer with a whispered introduction so the prospect does not repeat themselves. If nobody is free, the caller books a callback or a meeting in the rep's calendar with notes. Transfer windows and rep availability are set in your calendar or dialer so the caller always knows who can take a call.

How do you handle someone who asks not to be called again?

The caller thanks them, confirms it and logs a do-not-call flag on the record before the next dial. The flag suppresses the contact across every list and campaign you run with us, and the daily report lists how many such requests were made. Honoring these requests quickly is both the law in all four markets and the fastest way to keep your company name out of complaints.

What is the difference between this and appointment setting?

Appointment setting is a narrower service: the goal is a booked meeting and the list is usually warmer. Outbound calling covers the whole first conversation with people who have not heard from you: introducing the offer, qualifying interest, gathering market feedback, and only then booking a meeting or a callback. Many clients start with an outbound campaign to find the segments that respond, then move the warm ones to appointment setting.

What do you need from us before the first dial?

Five things: the target list or the profile to build one against, the offer in plain words, access to your CRM and dialer or permission to provision a number, the calling windows you want in each market, and your reps' availability for warm transfers. From there we write the script and the objection guide with you, scrub the list against the registers and record practice calls for your sign-off. The team lead signs off on compliance before the first live dial, usually in week two.

Which dialer and CRM do you work in?

Yours, wherever possible. On the phone side that is usually Dialpad, Aircall, RingCentral, Zoom Phone or a number provisioned on Twilio; on the record side HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM or GoHighLevel. The caller works from a seat you create, so every dial, outcome, recording and do-not-call flag lands in your system and stays there when the campaign ends. Nothing is exported and nothing is kept locally, which also means the consent log is yours to audit without asking us for a copy.

Can we run one campaign instead of committing to a desk?

Yes. A campaign block runs four to twelve weeks, which is long enough for the script to settle and for the objection log to tell you something about the segment. Continuous work is the 160-hour desk, or an 80-hour caller taking one campaign at a time, and a pod of three to eight callers with a team lead covers a multi-market push. The engagement stays month to month with thirty days notice either way, so a market test does not quietly become a standing cost.

What happens if the list turns out to be wrong?

You find out in the first week, because conversation rate is reported by list rather than as one total. Dials with no connects is usually bad data. Connects with no interest is usually the wrong segment or the wrong offer, and the objection log will say which. The fix is to swap the segment and keep the caller, who by then knows the script and the answers to the objections. Anyone who asked not to be called stays suppressed across every list you run with us, whatever changes around them.
