What do Florida businesses use a virtual assistant for?

Most of Florida runs on Eastern Time, with the western Panhandle from Pensacola to Panama City on Central, so a statewide business needs coverage from 7am Eastern until well after the last dinner reservation. The economy is tourism and hospitality from Orlando to the Keys, one of the most active real estate and property management markets in the country, a large healthcare sector serving retirees, property insurance and the claims that follow every storm, personal injury and immigration law, and a home services trade in roofing, pool, pest and air conditioning that never slows down. Florida buyers ask us for a front desk that answers fast in English and Spanish (available on request), for lead follow-up that stays inside the Florida Telephone Solicitation Act, for hurricane-season overflow when the phones spike, and for patient schedulers who understand snowbird calendars. All of it is delivered from remote desks working Florida hours, with the state's two-party recording rule respected on every line.

Florida desks run 7am to 7pm Eastern; Panhandle clients on Central get the same window shifted an hour, so Pensacola is covered 6am to 6pm local.

  • After the day desk

From 7pm Eastern the after-hours desk carries emergency AC and roofing lines, vacation rental guest calls and on-call practice messages through the night and weekend.

  • Second office in Pakistan

Our second office in Pakistan is 9 to 10 hours ahead of Florida; its day team covers the Florida overnight and staffs the Australian Eastern shift for the clients who request it.

What rules apply to outbound calls and data in Florida?

AssistBPO makes outbound calls, texts and emails in Florida only with lawful consent and do-not-call scrubbing. The 3 rules below are the ones that decide what that means locally.

  • Florida Telephone Solicitation Act (FTSA)

Florida Statutes section 501.059, amended in 2023, limits sales calls to 8am to 8pm local time, caps attempts at three per 24 hours on the same matter, and requires prior express written consent before an automated system is used to dial or text a consumer. Outbound work from our desks is live-dialed with lawful consent and do-not-call scrubbing against the Florida list kept by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the federal registry.

  • Two-party recording

Florida Statutes section 934.03 makes it unlawful to record a call without the consent of all parties. Every recorded line we answer for a Florida client opens with a recording notice, and the assistant turns recording off if a caller objects. Recordings stay in your phone system.

  • Federal TCPA and HIPAA

The federal TCPA and FCC rules sit alongside the FTSA, and the stricter rule applies. For medical, dental and home health clients, assistants are HIPAA-trained staff working under a BAA with minimum-necessary access to the practice system.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have an office in Florida?

No. AssistBPO has no office in Florida. Our assistants are employed by SS Support Network LLC, which is registered in Vancouver, Washington, and has a second office in Pakistan. They work Florida hours remotely from those offices, on managed devices, inside your phone system and software. We do not have a Miami, Tampa or Orlando address and we do not imply one; every location page on this site says the same.

What does a virtual assistant cost for a Florida business?

Plans depend on hours, desks and coverage. Get a staffing plan within 1 business day. Hours per month, the desk (front desk, admin, support, sales or back office) and whether you need bilingual or after-hours coverage shape the plan. For reference, published human answering-service plans run from about $235 a month for 50 minutes to about $1,095 for 500 minutes (OnceHub and AIRA roundups, September 2026).

How do you stay inside the Florida Telephone Solicitation Act?

Every outbound campaign for a Florida client runs with lawful consent and do-not-call scrubbing. We work only from leads with prior express written consent captured on your form, dial live from your numbers, keep calls between 8am and 8pm local, cap attempts at three per 24 hours on the same matter, and scrub against both the Florida do-not-call list and the National Do Not Call Registry before each session. Consent and attempt logs are kept per number.

Can you record calls for our Florida office?

Only with everyone's consent. Florida is an all-party consent state under section 934.03, so recorded lines begin with a notice that the call may be recorded, and the assistant stops recording if a caller says no. Recordings are stored in your RingCentral, Dialpad or Aircall account, not on our equipment, and the team lead samples them monthly for the QA scorecard.

Do you offer Spanish-speaking receptionists in Florida?

Bilingual English and Spanish receptionists are available on request, and Florida is one of the two markets where nearly every discovery call asks about it. The receptionist answers in your company name, follows the caller's language, and logs the note in English unless you prefer Spanish. We pair a bilingual backup so coverage does not lapse. Haitian Creole and Portuguese are not currently offered.

Can you handle hurricane-season call spikes?

Yes. Roofing, insurance and property management clients add a shared overflow desk for June through November so that when a storm hits, calls that exceed your dedicated assistant's capacity roll to a pool that already has your scripts. The after-hours desk carries nights and weekends. After the season the overflow drops off and the dedicated assistant continues, with the same call log throughout.
