Social media virtual assistant for hospitality, restaurants & travel

AssistBPO's social media virtual assistant for hospitality, restaurant and travel businesses runs the calendar that a chef or a GM never has time for between services. Menu drops, the Friday special, event announcements, room and package promotions, behind-the-scenes clips from the kitchen, guest photos shared with permission, and the seasonal posts that fill a slow Tuesday.

How does a social media assistant work for hospitality?

Your assistant designs in Canva from your brand kit, writes captions in your voice, schedules across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Google Business Profile, and replies to comments and DMs during your hours with a script that turns a question about Saturday availability into a booking link. Reservation requests in DMs are booked or handed to the desk. Reviews on Google and TripAdvisor are answered within a day. Alcohol posts follow platform age rules and your state's advertising rules. Guest faces appear only with consent. Travel agencies get destination content, client trip highlights with permission, and pre-season posts timed to booking windows. Inquiries from DMs are logged in your CRM with the source, and reach, engagement and bookings from social are reported monthly. Named assistant, backup, team lead, in your hours.

What rules does a social media assistant follow for hospitality?

  1. Guest texts and emails under TCPA and CAN-SPAM. Reservation confirmations, reminders and in-stay messages are transactional and go to the number or email the guest gave when booking. Marketing texts and emails, such as a holiday menu or a returning-guest offer, go only to guests who opted in, inside 8am to 9pm local time for texts, with an unsubscribe on every email, under the TCPA enforced by the FCC and CAN-SPAM enforced by the FTC.
  2. Deposits and card holds under PCI DSS. Large-party deposits, room holds and event deposits are collected only through the payment link or card capture in your reservation platform, PMS or POS. The assistant never takes a card number by phone, writes one down or stores one in a note, in line with PCI DSS.
  3. Service animals and allergen questions. Under the ADA, enforced by the US Department of Justice, a service animal is admitted and the desk asks only the two permitted questions. Allergen and dietary questions are passed to the kitchen in the guest's exact words and never answered from memory, because state health codes based on the FDA Food Code hold the operator responsible.
  4. Review replies under the FTC rule. No review is bought, incentivized or written by us, following the FTC's Consumer Reviews and Testimonials Rule. Replies never confirm that a named person stayed or dined, never quote a reservation detail, and move disputes to a private channel.

Frequently asked questions

What are the rules for alcohol and food posts?

Alcohol content is posted with platform age-gating and follows your state's alcohol advertising rules; the assistant never posts drink specials that your state's beverage control board would treat as an unlawful inducement, and flags anything borderline to you first. Food posts describe dishes and allergens accurately from the menu. Health claims are avoided. Your team lead checks your state's rules during onboarding and keeps them in the playbook.

Can you use photos of our guests?

Only with consent. The assistant asks in a DM or at the review stage, records the permission in the CRM, and credits the guest where they want it. User-generated photos are shared with the original poster's consent and credit. Staff appear only with their agreement. Photos never show a card, a receipt with a name, or a reservation screen. Guests who withdraw consent have their photo removed the same day.

Will the assistant book tables from DMs?

Yes, during your hours and within the rules the reservation desk uses: the assistant checks live availability, books in OpenTable or Resy or sends the booking link, and logs the inquiry with Instagram or Facebook as the source. Large parties and events are handed to the events manager with the thread. Complaints are moved to a private message and passed to you, never debated in the comments.
