How does appointment setting work in Australia?
Outbound in Australia starts with the register, not the script. Under the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 every calling list is washed before use and rewashed on the register's cycle, and the ACMA's Telemarketing and Research Calls Industry Standard sets the hours a call may be placed, judged in the prospect's own state time. That matters more here than most markets: Queensland does not change clocks, South Australia sits half an hour behind, and a Perth prospect is two or three hours behind your rep. Your setter handles all of it on a staffed AEST shift, with extended AEST cover available on request where the Western Australian list is large. Scripts, objection guides and qualification criteria are written with you first. Every conversation, outcome and consent basis is logged in HubSpot, Salesforce or Pipedrive, meetings are booked with both time zones stated, reminders go out the day before, and no-shows are chased inside your rules. Reporting covers dials, conversations, meetings booked and meetings actually held.

What is different about running this desk in Australia?
The same desk, run to the rules, hours and vocabulary of this market.
Do Not Call Register Act 2006 and the ACMA standard
Lists are washed against the Do Not Call Register before each campaign, rewashed on the register's cycle and screened against your own suppression list, with the date stored on every record. The ACMA's industry standard sets permitted calling hours and requires the caller to identify the business and the purpose promptly. Numbers that are on the register stay off the dialling list regardless of how good the fit looks.
Spam Act 2003 for the email leg
Any email or SMS in the sequence is a commercial electronic message. It needs consent, express or inferred from an existing relationship, your business clearly identified and a working unsubscribe. The setter records the basis, the source and the date on each contact, honours opt-outs across every channel the same day and never works a purchased list. Where consent cannot be evidenced, the contact gets a call only or nothing at all.
Privacy Act 1988 APP 8 for prospect data
Prospect names, numbers and notes are personal information. Under Australian Privacy Principle 8 you take reasonable steps before that goes to an overseas recipient, so the setter works inside your CRM on a named seat with exports disabled, multi-factor sign-in and managed devices, under a privacy addendum. Call recordings, where you use them, carry a notice and are retained on your schedule.
What outbound staffing costs in Australia
Onshore Australian sales support publishes A$39.90 to A$65 an hour, offshore managed agencies publish A$8 to A$35 an hour, and full-time offshore setters are advertised at A$22,000 to A$35,000 a year against A$91,000 or more for a loaded local hire (Virtual Coworker, Remote Staff, VA Platinum and 2026 roundups).

How it works
-
Match
A 20-minute discovery call on who you sell to, where the list comes from, what a qualified meeting means, your CRM and calendar setup and the markets you call into. Within 72 hours we propose a named setter with experience in your sector and an accent match for your prospects, plus a trained backup.
-
Onboard
We write the script and objection guide with you, load and scrub the list, connect the dialer to your CRM and reps' calendars, set calling windows per market and run recorded practice calls until the team lead signs off. The first live campaign starts in week two.
-
Daily rhythm
The setter works the list in permitted hours, logs every outcome in the CRM as it happens, books meetings with notes, sends confirmations for tomorrow and chases any no-shows from today. The end-of-day report shows dials, conversations, meetings booked and anything a rep needs to know before the morning.
-
Weekly review
20 minutes with the team lead: meetings booked and held, conversation rate by list, objections heard most, script changes and next week's calling plan. Monthly, the team lead scores a random sample of recordings on the QA scorecard for script adherence, compliance and tone.

Frequently asked questions
How much do appointment setting services cost in Australia?
Plans depend on hours, desks and coverage. Get a staffing plan within 1 business day. For a benchmark, onshore Australian sales support publishes A$39.90 to A$65 an hour, offshore managed agencies publish A$8 to A$35 an hour, and full-time offshore setters are advertised at A$22,000 to A$35,000 a year against A$91,000 or more loaded locally (Virtual Coworker, Remote Staff, VA Platinum and 2026 roundups). We quote in AUD per setter, not per meeting.
Do you have setters in Australia?
No. Setters are employed by SS Support Network LLC and work from the group's offices in Vancouver, Washington and a second office in Pakistan, on a staffed shift matched to your prospects' business hours. They are trained on the Do Not Call Register Act 2006, the ACMA standard and the Spam Act 2003 before dialling an Australian number. We have no Australian office and we do not use freelancers. If a prospect asks where the call is from, they get a straight answer.
How do you stay compliant with Australian calling rules?
By treating the list as the compliance artefact. Every number is washed against the Do Not Call Register before a campaign and rewashed on the register's cycle, the wash date sits on the record, and your own suppression list is applied on top. Calls are placed only inside the ACMA's permitted hours, calculated in the prospect's state time. The setter names your business and the reason for calling within the first sentences.
Where do the lists come from?
Mostly from you, because your own customers, lapsed accounts, event registrations and inbound enquiries carry the cleanest basis. Where you want new names, the setter researches and builds a business list from public sources for calling only, keeps it separate from any email sequence and screens it against the register and your suppression list. We do not buy contact lists and we do not import a list someone else scraped.
What counts as a qualified meeting?
Your definition, written into the script and scored on every booking. Most Australian clients use a version of budget, authority, need and timing with one or two disqualifiers of their own, such as state, business size or an existing contract that has two years to run. The answers go into the CRM so the rep sees why the meeting exists before joining. Bookings that fail the definition do not count in the weekly number.
How do you handle prospects in Perth and Queensland?
As separate calling windows, not an afterthought. Western Australian numbers are dialled at the start of the shift when it is still mid-morning in Perth, Queensland numbers are timed against AEST year round, and South Australian numbers carry the half-hour offset. Meeting invitations state both time zones, and reminders go out in the prospect's own time. Getting this wrong is the most common reason an Australian outbound campaign shows a poor show rate.
